The Middle Wing Experience

The Middle Wing at AIS School serves the students in one of the most critical phases of their development when they study in Classes 6 to 8. This is the stage when children are leaving behind simple education and starting to build a more profound knowledge, as well as logical thinking and individual research. Our Middle Wing offers a structured but supportive environment that allows students to discover their skills as they also learn to be responsible in regard to their academic and personal development.

The students are inquisitive, imaginative and want to reason at this age. This is promoted by the AIS School curriculum (English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Languages, Computer Education and Value Education). The topics are more elaborate, and experiments, activities, projects, digital tools, and interactive lessons make the learning process enjoyable. The objective is to ensure that the students learn concepts and apply them in real life and develop a solid academic basis in senior classes.

The Middle Wing is a major component of practical learning. To learn subjects practically, students utilize computer laboratories, science laboratories, mathematical models and kits, as well as maps and models. This assists them in learning scientific thinking, observation and problem-solving. Collaborative learning is exciting, as activities such as model making, presentations, quizzes and group assignments are involved.

It is the stage where communication skills are developed. Students participate in debates and speeches, role-play, group discussions and presentations in the classrooms. These programs develop self-confidence, fluency and facility of expression. The skills in writing are established with the help of the assignments, reports, creative writing, and research assignments.

Physical fitness is also of key concern. There are sports such as basketball, football, cricket, athletics and indoor games amongst the students. Yoga, workouts and physical exercises assist them to remain active and disciplined as well as to stay healthy. Regular sports make one learn about teamwork, sportsmanship and leadership.

The change in students of the middle school is also emotional and social. AIS gives them good guidance and counselling services to enable them to handle the pressures and overcome lack of confidence and positive attitude. The role of the teacher is that of a mentor, to provide help when one is confused, overwhelmed or lost in himself as a student.

Co-curricular activities provide sanity to academics. Music, dance, art, craft, and theater, as well as technology clubs and hobby clubs and groups, assist students in pursuing their interests and discovering new talents. Competitions, exhibitions, assemblies and school programs are also participations in which confidence and creativity are developed.

Daily routines teach discipline, manners and responsibility. The students are taught time management, organization, respect towards rules and independent studies. The purpose of AIS is to equip students in senior classes, and not just with real-life situations.
